HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT CHANGES IN ISO 14001:2015,ARTICLES
ISO 14001: 2015 adopts the High Level Structure specified in ISO Annex SL. This defined structure has been adopted as the framework required by all new and revised management systems standards.
The ISO team responsible for the revision process (the ISO / TC 207 / SC1 subcommittee) has determined the following changes as the result of the revision they have made:
STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
The understanding of the context of the organization is a new requirement in the process of determining the internal and external problems related to the activities of the organizations and the environment. In order to overcome these problems, actions should also be defined within the Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
LEADERSHIP
A new clause has been added that includes specific responsibilities for senior management's commitment to environmental governance and leadership. Senior management may assign this task to others, but their responsibilities in this regard will continue.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Environmental policy will be based on 'pollution prevention' and commitment to 'protection of the environment', including sustainability, resource use, climate change measures and harmonization, biodiversity conservation and 'other' issues such as ecosystems.
ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE
The main focal point is to improve performance in terms of environmental management. By using the right indicators, organizations will decide for themselves the criteria to determine their environmental performance.
LIFE LOGICAL CYCLE
Organizations, scope and control of environmental effects from the raw material supply / production will spread out from scrap processing. This does not mean that life cycle analysis (LCA) will be undertaken, but organizations will carefully consider the stages of controlled and affected products / services.
COMMUNICATION
It emphasizes internal and external communication, and attaches equal importance to them. The communication decision is taken out by the organization, adding compliance obligations to the account.
DOCUMENTATION
'Documented information' is used instead of 'documents' and 'records'. The organization has the flexibility to judge 'procedures' when necessary. Any format (paper, cloud” Common file in the virtual environment”, etc.) applies.
TRANSITION FROM ISO 14001: 2004 'TO ISO 14001: 2015
