ISO 45001 Standard Approved with 93% Vote

More than 7,600 people die every day due to work-related accidents or diseases.

The burden of occupational injuries and diseases is significant, both for employers and the wider economy, resulting in losses from early retirements, staff absence and rising insurance premiums.

To resolve the problem ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is developing a new standard which is ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

The final draft of the ISO 45001 standard was adopted by ISO and received a 93% vote for the requirements that would help organizations and employees all over the world to reduce this burden by providing a framework for increasing safety, reducing workplace risks and providing better and safer working conditions.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard is expected to be published in March 2018.

It is expected that the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard will be in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 and enable to integrate.
