Can ISO 26000 and ISO 31000 standards be certified?

Can ISO 26000 and ISO 31000 standards be certified?

Did you know that the IAF announced that there will be no accredited certification for ISO 26000 and ISO 31000 standards?

Both ISO 26000 and ISO 31000 standards, explicitly states that it is not intended or appropriate for certification, and any certification would be a misuse of the standard.

However, despite this, we observe that there are certified companies for both ISO 26000 and ISO 31000 standards, and more interestingly, Lead Auditor Trainings are organized in the market.

As is known, for certification, lead auditors are required to conduct audits in the relevant standard. Therefore, how meaningful is it to be an auditor for standards that cannot be certified?

Actually, IAF ask to Certification Bodies strongly urged not to promote or provide certification about ISO 26000 and ISO 31000.
